Sounds like this guy is looking for an excuse to sit on his ass and do nothing about a very urgent matter. There was no discussion as to how many trees Gore may have planted to offset his footprint from taking private jets. The point in becoming conscious of an issue is to make changes where you can. And to continuously find more and more ways that you can cut your footprint and make a difference. If your job and schedule demands being all over the country in short periods of time, and your face has a recognition value that would prohibit you from being productive, and being able to get around easily on commercial jets, one might take a private jet when it is being offered to you. While I love the information about the difference between private and commercial, this is definitely not any where close to the whole story. This guy needs to get off his self righteous high horse, and actually figure out how he can make a difference too.
